But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. And while Emily-the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member-is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Sure, she's curious about her biological father-the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent-but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible.

His father's dying wish was to have his family sit shiva for a week, staying together at the family home and working through their issues. In case you haven't heard of this book or seen the movie, it follows thirty-something Judd after the death of his father and demise of his marriage. I have no regrets but I am still sticking to the bookworm's rule that the book was better. And well, here we are, book and movie both read and watched. I knew I liked the storyline of the book so I was down for the movie. Fast forward about a year later, I watched the movie and really enjoyed it. But in all honesty, I hadn't heard about the book until the movie came out and I wasn't really even planning on watching the movie at all. I know, I know, I can't believe I did it too. Well, I broke one my rules with this book: I watched the movie first. I am back with another book review, today it is This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper. I’ll admit, I’ve shed a tear or two myself at the thought of Vernon’s Magic Shop lying in ruins. Just sayin’.) You must be itching to find out how things have progressed for each of them since the disastrous end to our previous tale. (Presto, Change-O, Top Hat, and the Doves sounds like a stupendous name for a band. And after learning all you have about Carter, Leila, Theo, Ridley, Olly, Illy, Ozzy, Izzy, Dante, the Other Mister Vernon, Presto, Change-O, Top Hat, and Theo’s doves, I’m sure you’re as worried about them as I’ve been. But being here with you, of all people… well, I’m quite happy you’re here to keep me company as we begin the fourth-and final-tale of our adventurous Magic Misfits.Īs I’m sure you’re aware, the conclusion to an epic chronicle can be nerve-racking. Thinking about everything that is forthcoming has made me slightly anxious. You don’t mind waiting a moment while I turn on a light, do you? You should most definitely be reading this. That’s not to say you shouldn’t be reading this. I was here in the dark, when I felt a presence and was worried that someone was reading this who shouldn’t be. |
